About Edington Advisors

Elliot Wilson is a financial journalist with 25 years of experience covering global markets, private banking and wealth management.

He has lived and worked in major financial and business centres including London, Hong Kong, Geneva, Beijing and Melbourne, and his writing has appeared in publications such as The Spectator, IFR and Barron’s.

In 2020, Elliot was appointed global private banking and wealth management editor at Euromoney, where he led coverage of the sector and spearheaded a complete overhaul of the magazine’s prestigious annual private banking awards. During his tenure, he interviewed
many of the world’s leading wealth managers, gaining a deep understanding of how families and institutions preserve and deploy capital across generations.

In 2025, Elliot left to found Edington Advisors, inspired by a desire to work more closely with families on the frontlines of wealth, legacy and financial purpose.

He is accompanied wherever he goes by his canine shadow, Monty – a Maremma, Kelpie and Collie mix - who may be hopeless at wealth management but excels at guarding chickens.

Our Foundation Stone

Edington Advisors takes its name from the Battle of Edington in 878 AD, where King Alfred halted the Viking advance in England. But Alfred was more than a warrior. He was a visionary leader – founding schools, promoting the arts, reforming the legal system, and building fortified towns to protect and strengthen his Kingdom.

We aspire to Alfred’s example.

The Vikings of today wear different faces – uncertainty, complexity, change – but the need for wise stewardship remains. In a world of constant change, Edington Advisors helps clients make sense of their wealth—what it stands for, what it can do, and how to share that vision with those who matter most.
